About J. Blake Kamoroff
Experience inside powerful systems. A practice built to challenge their conclusions.
Blake Kamoroff is a retired Army JAG, former prosecutor and Senior Defense Counsel, and the attorney behind Kamoroff Law, LLC and its dedicated military-defense practice at UCMJ.Law.
Why this work
Every case is the most important case in the world to the person living through it.
For more than a decade, my legal career has placed me inside systems with enormous authority over individual lives. I began as an Army JAG prosecutor. After two years, I volunteered for the Trial Defense Service because I found my calling in standing beside Soldiers who needed someone to challenge the government's version of events.
I later was selected to serve as a Senior Defense Counsel. I supervised defense offices serving South Carolina and Fort Eisenhower, trained military defense attorneys throughout the Southeast, represented senior clients, and managed complex cases across the United States and in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility.
That experience shaped the method I use today: investigate before assuming, identify what the decision-maker can actually rely on, build the record carefully, and give the client candid advice about the available path.
Investigation before assumption
An official report, institutional finding, or confident accusation may not tell the whole story.
Find what was missed
Identify overlooked evidence, documents, context, and witnesses.
Test the theory
Examine the assumptions driving an official or institutional decision.
Build the record
Organize facts into a persuasive account of what the evidence supports.
Measure the remedy
Consider whether the evidence, cost, risk, and potential result make sense together.
One firm · Two focused paths
UCMJ.Law is Kamoroff Law's dedicated military-defense practice.
Military defense is the firm's principal public-facing specialty. UCMJ.Law provides focused information and confidential intake for Soldiers and Officers facing Army GOMORs, Article 15 proceedings, investigations, adverse evaluations, and related military action.
Kamoroff Law also selectively considers serious civil matters involving institutional power. My broader civil background includes medical malpractice, serious personal injury, complex federal civil litigation, and class-action matters. When a civil matter requires additional experience or resources, I may evaluate working with co-counsel rather than suggesting that one lawyer should do everything.
Direct, selective representation
If I accept your matter, you work with me.
I keep the practice deliberately limited so that I can understand the facts, communicate directly, and give each accepted matter the attention it deserves.
I cannot promise a result. I can promise not to reduce a client to the worst allegation made about them or pretend the law offers an easy answer when it does not.
